Dedication no matter what!
Some of us need lots of motivating – let’s face it life is hard work sometimes and we don’t always want to play the game
However…….. there are those amazing few people in the world that no matter what, they keep going!
We are lucky enough to have a few of those people as members here at health culture and we wanted to learn their secrets and how week in week out they keep coming to the gym.
Meet Jezza Ronnfeldt
How long have you been a member of health culture?

To stay fit and healthy – can’t sit around wondering
What makes you keep coming?
Definitely the staff lol, and I’d feel weird if I missed a session if that makes sense
What’s your weekly routine
4 Days a week, 2 body parts a workout, Wednesday off and cardio
What’s your best tips to help motivate others
Don’t over think things. Keep consistent with your training. Don’t give up, set goals, life is too short
Meet Morris O’Brien
How long have you been a member of health culture?
Since the gym began operating in Sanger Street
Why do you come to the gym?
I like to create little challenges for myself – maybe to increase your time performance with cardio or to increase your strength with using weights
What makes you keep coming?
Good question. It helps if you are a bit crazy or maybe a lot! Seriously, if you can adapt your body to increase your workout performance to a greater level than just going through the motions, you should be able to get ‘the endorphin effect’, which will make you feel better after a ‘good’ workout.
What’s your weekly routine
Cardio, whether on the bike or treadmill, plus weights and plenty of stretching to aid flexibility
What’s your best tips to help motivate others
Set yourself a goal, whether it is to lose weight or increase your overall fitness level.
The body is an unbelievable piece of work, anything can be achieved with plenty of determination.
Meet Kimmie Dibben
How long have you been a member of health culture?
Ever since health culture opened in Sanger Street
Why do you come to the gym?
To help my body stay healthy, fit and happy. To increase my bone density. To see others. To stay strong. To enhance my immunity.
What makes you keep coming?
Friendly Staff. Great Surroundings, Awesome atmosphere. To get my endorphins going. To stay fit
What’s your weekly routine
I attend every day when I Can. Cardio with weights for an all body workout. I make a habit of good core training for my job
What’s your best tips to help motivate others
Don’t pressure yourself to be stronger or fitter every workout. If you need motivation, get a trainer. Otherwise going to the gym or any exercise should be enjoyable. Alternate or change up your workouts to maintain interest. I enjoy the feeling of walking out of the gym no matter how hard I workout
Meet Mechele Branella
How long have you been a member of health culture?
For about 5 years since moving up from Melbourne, but my training has increased over time
Why do you come to the gym?
Health, fitness, stress relief, build strength, keep flexibility, increase stamina, keep & improve tone, and if I manage to lose a few kg’s, well bonus!
What makes you keep coming?
Truthfully, I feel I am addicted! A positive healthy addiction. I feel awful (guilty, tried etc) when I miss a day and frustrated if someone or something else makes me miss a day
What’s your weekly routine
Ideally (although it doesn’t always work out that way) alternating days of cardio. And weights training, minimum of 30 mins each, 5-7 days a week. Plus one session per week with Jamie, my totally awesome trainer lol! He motivates and challenges me, and breaks up any monotony.
What’s your best tips to help motivate others
Aside from developing some sort of commitment and routine, science has proven that 30 minutes of weights training and/or cardio activity will help relieve stress, anxiety, and depression. So apart from improving your physical health, you will also be improving your mind, and the way you feel too.
Do it for yourself, challenge yourself, and above all, have fun!
